Job Summary:
The Manager, Security Services develops and implements measures to provide a safe and secure environment through security and property protection programmes, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate officers.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and implements emergency security procedures taking into account the needs of patients/ clients, stakeholders, clinical areas, other departments, facilities and sites which can be negatively impacted by failure to follow security procedures
- Coordinates activities related to the monitoring and maintaining of emergency procedures for the Authority’s computerised security programme
- Reviews emergency security policies and procedures related to the operations of sensitive areas, and develops new policies and procedures as appropriate
- Ensures that all security breaches are thoroughly investigate and recommends corrective action Advises management on the appropriate security systems and procedures to ensure the safety and protection of the organization’s personnel, property clients ands stakeholders in the development of the Security Management Plan
- Prepares budget recommendations for staffing, supplies and/or equipment that is required to maintain quality patient care
- Ensures that human, financial and technological resources are managed effectively within the team
- Plans and alters duty rota including rescheduling staff during periods of absenteeism
- Conducts in-house training and induction for staff on the use and maintenance of equipment thus ensuring effective levels of productivity
- Adheres to Accreditation Standards, Public Health, Infection Control, Patient’s Charter/ Bill of Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, MoH/ DHWSP and TRHA Protocols, Guideline, Policies and Procedures
- Performs related work as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Laws of Trinidad and Tobago as it relates to national security
- Local and international safety codes and practices
- Security, administration, policies and expert systems
- Knowledge and experience in utilising access controls, CCTV systems and alarm systems
- Word processing, spreadsheet and database and project applications
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions
- Communicate orally with user departments’ representatives, manufacturers, contractors
- Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
- Ability to work in elevated locations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Estate Police Officer
- At least ten (10) years experience as a senior officer in a protective services or with a security firm
- Computer Literacy (Programming experience will be an asset)
- Valid driver’s permit
- Diploma or Bachelors in Management (will be an asset)
Special Requirements:
- Willing to work overtime, public holidays and weekends as requested:
- The incumbent is required to perform Emergency On-call duties based on an On-call roster as directed by the Essential Service Industry Standards for a 24-hour Health Care System.
- The incumbent is also required to work in a shift environment covering 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Maintains the confidentiality of patients’ information at all times.
