Job Summary:
The Senior Human Resource Officer will oversee the activity of a number of sub-units and contribute to the accomplishment of Human Resources goals and objectives by developing, advising on and implementing policies relating to the effective use of employees within the Authority.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of good human resource and industrial relations management.
- Considerable knowledge of strategic planning methodologies and human resources software applications.
- Current knowledge of developments related to business matters of interest to human resources, particularly legislation changes and developments and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to peers and management.
- Organizational and time management/project management skills.
- Applicable computer software such as Microsoft Projects, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite — Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Publisher.
- ICT skills – Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to search inter and intranet.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools such as work breakdown structures, logical frameworks and implementation plans.
- Maintains the confidentiality of information at all times.
- ICT skills – Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to search inter and intranet.
- Excellent leadership, team building and inter-personal skills.
- Effective time-management skills and the ability to multitask and coordinate routine activities.
- Willing to work overtime, public holidays and weekends as requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Management or Human Resource Management from an accredited educational institution.
- At least five (05) years’ experience in Human Resource Management.
- Introductory/Intermediate training in Industrial Relations, Strategic Planning or Organizational Design (would be an asset).
- Any other relevant combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.
