Job Summary:
The Biomedical Technician II is required to perform and/or assist in the installation, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of biomedical and related technical equipment. Additional responsibilities may include operation of equipment, equipment control and safety.
The Biomedical Technician II applies electrical, electronic, mechanical, chemical, optical, and other engineering principles to perform maintenance, service, repairs and overhaul of all medical equipment and medical systems. Examples of equipment may include imaging, haemodialysis, physiological monitoring systems; ECGs; lasers, sterilizers, dental equipment, etc.
The Biomedical Technician II is required to be knowledgeable in the theory of operation, the underlying physiological principles, and the safe clinical application of biomedical equipment in some major areas of clinical equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering
- At least 4-6 years on-the- job training in maintenance of medical and/or electronic equipment.
